Eligibility
Intermediate / PUC / 10+2 / B.Sc. with English,
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with 45% aggregate marks (also
45% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).
OR
Diploma in Engineering from any state Polytechnic
or its equivalent.
Duration
2 years for Diploma pass student and 3 years for 10+2 pass
students.
Details of Course
The examination of the Institution Engineers (India) consist of
two sections.
1. Section - A ( Non diploma stream) / (Diploma stream) and
2. Section - B
Students with Diploma in Engineering will be exempted from 5 subjects
of Sec - A and can directly join Sec - A Diploma Stream.
Section - A Examination (Non - Diploma Stream)
Duration : One & half year
Eligibility : Intermediate/PUC/10+2
or equivalent with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with
45% marks aggregate (also 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry)
Subjects : There are ten subjects
for the Section - A Examination.

Exams are conducted in June & December every
year. Students are eligible for appearance in the first exam only
after completion of one year. Students can write any four subjects
(Maximum) in any of the examinations.
Correspondence Coaching for Sec-A Non-diploma
Stream
* ESC provides correspondence coaching for these
6 subjects. The fee is Rs. 4750/- for all the six subjects. Fee for
Individual subjects is Rs. 850/- per subject (inclusive of
courier/postal charges). Add Rs. 110/- towards Registration fee. The
Fees must be paid in cash at the counter or by DD favouring
"Engineers Study Circle" payable at Bangalore.
Membership
If the student has not yet enrolled with IE(I), after completing admission in ESC, Student are
required to register with IE(I) to become Technician member of Institution
of Engineers (India)" by paying specified membership fee (Rs.
3565/ as on 01.08.2007)- to IE(I). For details,
students are advised to contact ESC. In case this membership is
not taken within 2 weeks of taking admission in ESC, students will
not be eligible to appear for that semester exam. ESC provide
complete guidance for membership of AMIE.
Section - A Diploma Stream
Duration : Six Months
Eligibility : Diploma in Engineering
or its equivalent.
Subjects : There are only four subjects
for Sec - A Examination.

AMIE Section - B Examination
After passing the Sec - A a candidate is eligible
to step on to the Sec - B level. Candidates wishing to appear in
Sec - B examination will have the choice to change his branch of
Engineering. Candidate will be required to appear in nine subjects
out of which six are compulsory and three optional. for details

Project Work : After passing Sec - A and 5
Subjects of Sec-B, a candidate shall be eligible for Project Work in
an engineering branch of Sec-B.
General Information for AMIE
Membership (Studentship) for AMIE can be arranged
through Engineers Study Circle on the request of student according
to the Rules and Regulations of the institution in all cases and
according to the details stated in the Prospectus.
The Maximum marks for each subject wise and can
also claim exemption if he/she scores 50 marks or above and will
be declared successful in that subject.
The AMIE Examination are held twice a year in the
months of June (Summer) and December (Winter) and accordingly admissions
are made.
The Examination is conducted by the Institution
of Engineers in fifteen Engineering branches. The student, after
completion of Sec -A can choose any branch according to his/her
field of interest. Section - A is common for all branches.
Passing of Section A and B is known as Graduate
ship.
After passing Sec -A and Sec -B the student can
appear, like other Engineering graduates, for UPSC Class I and II
Examinations.
After passing Sec -A and B the students are eligible
for GATE and to take admission to M.E / M.Tech or MBA, Post Graduate
courses of Indian Universities.
The examination fee is Rs. 1200/- for any examination
of the Institution
The Membership fee/exam fee should be paid by demand
draft drawn on SBI in favor of "The Institution of Engineers (India)"
Payable at Kolkata.

Academic Sessions :
Engineers Study Circle has two (2) academic sessions
for all the regular and postal Courses which begin from the month
of June & December every year. Admission are open throughout
the year for all the regular and postal courses. Candidates can
join any course and choose the session as per their convenience.
The exam for June batch will be held in December & for December
batch in the month of June every year. Being a non-formal education
scheme there is no age limit to join these courses.

9.00 AM to 2.00 PM on Sundays |
