General & Lateral Entry Scheme for IT-Courses

GERAL ENTRY SCHEME

B.Sc.(IT) - I Semester

a) (10+2) in any discipline or (10th + 3 year) Polytechnic Diploma

b) 10th + Pass Certification of any 2-year formal study in a Government/Private organization

c) 10th + 5-years of Job experience Certificate in any organisation, with an 'Entrance Test'.

M.Sc. (IT) - I Semester

a) B.Sc.(C.Sc)/B.Sc.(IT)/BCA/ B.E.(Any Branch)

b) Any other Graduation + 'Foundation Course', which could be taken concurrently with the 1st semester or as a pre-requisite course, separately.

c) Graduation + I-year IT-Course Certificate from a recognised organization.

LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME

B.Sc. (IT) - II Semester

a) (10+2) + 6-months IT-certificate from any Institute or Organisation

b) (10+2) + I-year Professional IT- expenence

c) (10+2) + I-year Electronics/Hardware course from any Training Institute

d) 10th + 3-year Diploma in any Branch, who have studied a Computer course in any semester.

e) After successful completion of 1st year courses of B.Sc.(C.Sc)/BCA/BCM, etc

B.Sc. (IT) - III Semester

a) (10+2) +3-year Polytechnic Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology

b) (10+2) + 2-semesters of DNIIT

c) (10+2) + 2-Semesters of DIT Programme from any recognised university

B.Sc. (IT) - IV Semester

(10+2) + minimum of 3-Semesters of DNIIT, provided the student has to pass the examination in the subjects of B.Sc.(IT) - 3rd semester of KU which he/ she has not studied in his/her NIIT Programme, as per the examination regulations of KU for Back-up Courses. The examination for the required B.Sc.(IT)-3rd semester subjects could be taken concurrently with the B.Sc.(IT) - 4th semester Programme.

M.Sc. (IT) - II Semester

a) Graduation + DNIIT (4-semesters/2-years programme from NIIT)

b) Graduation + 2-years Advanced Diploma from any recognised IT-organisation

M.Sc. (IT) - III Semester

a) Graduation + PGDCA of I-year duration from any recognised University

b) B.E.(C.Sc.!I.Sc.) or MCA from a recognized university

c) Graduation + DOEACC 'A' Certificate

d) Graduation + GNIIT (6-semesters/3-year programme from NIIT)

e) Graduation + I-year Advanced Diploma of C-DAC or MCSE or I-year Post-Graduate Diploma conducted by recognized State or Central Government Organisations.

f) Graduation + Full-Time Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Software Technology (PGDST) from CIST, Mysore

g) Graduation + Post-Graduate Diploma in Electronics Data ProceSsing & Computer Management (PGDEDPCM) from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,

h) Graduation + minimum 3-years professional experience in IT- industry, but they have to pass a 'Bridge Course', which is a pre-requisite for this type of lateral entry.

i) Teaching faculty with degree qualification witl1 minimum of 3-years IT-teaching experience in a college or IT-training organisation can join M.Sc.(IT) - 3rd Semester.
They also need to pass the 'Bridge Course', which is a pre-requisite for this lateral entry.
